Flyers Shmyers |

| After watching the Flyers lose to the Sens 3-1 last night I realized that once again Clarkie is trying to pull the wool over our eyes. Thankfully, I stopped buying tickets a couple of years ago and only go to the Wachovia (nee First Union, nee Comcast) Center when some freebies come my way through trickle down economics. After reeling off a 12 game unbeaten streak I felt myself being sucked back in and sitting through endless commercials telling me that great seats are still available for all upcoming home games. However, I now know that this year will end like all the others with another playoff disappointment. The orange and black have lost three games this year: one to to the Devils, one to the Sens, and one to Roman Cechmanek and the L.A. Kings. The Flyers, simply put, are not as good as the Devils or the Senators, which just happen to be the two teams in the East they couldn't beat last year. We'll see how fresh the collective legs of the thirty something's Clarke has assembled are once March and April roll around. Somehow the Devils and Sens inject new talent every year which play an integral part in their success. I know Ottawa chokes in the playoffs but I don't see anyway the Flyers could beat them in a seven game series. Whats the one constant in NJ through all these years? Brodeur and Stevens. So my advice to everyone is to forget the Flyers and spend that extra money on that jewelry your wife wants for Christmas. Who knows? You might even get lucky. Email the Author |
