So my dream World Series matchup is finally going to happen…It’s the Evil Empire v. The Phightin Phils, Bronx Bombers v. Red October. It seems like we’ve been waiting for this to come to fruition forever. I keep hearing Phils fans saying “Bring on the Yankees.” Well, what about “Bring on the Phillies?” They’re the defending champs, have rolled through the first two rounds again, and look very formidable. The Yanks haven’t won anything in 9 years. When I look at the matchups its amazing how similar these two teams are: 1) After the #1 starter your not quite sure what you’re going to get…Hamels, Burnett, Blanton, Pettitte can be dominating or give up 7 runs; 2) Neither team has seen a lineup like this…both lineups can rake from top to bottom and score a ton of runs; 3) The bullpens are unpredicatble…the yanks pen was good all year but looked beyond shaky in the ALCS while the phils pen shutdown the Dodgers. So settle in for a fantastic series and hopefully next week we’ll be celebrating championship number 27.
Bring it on

Who the fuck are the “we”? The “we” will be celebrating back to back parades!!
It has come to my attention that MOST (not all, and certainly not you, bruce) yankee “fans” are fraudulent. Actually got sucked into a “conversation” over the weekend with some yankee “fans” who insisted that the Phils have been lucky and clearly do not match up against this amazingly great yankee squad, who most of them have already been pre-inducted into the HOF, according to them. Of course i could not let this go, although i should have. I said ok, then rattled off the stats of our all-star 1 through 6 hitters, threw in Chooch and Lee for good measure and told them that it should be a fantastic series. These clowns actually laughed and said “yeah, for us!! the Yankees will sweep your Phillies”, although they couldn’t get past Posada in their lineup even after i spotted them Matsui. Hey, at least they knew what a “sweep” is, but i’m not totally sure they knew how many wins it equates to. This is clearly a disturbing trend amongst yankee “fans” all over the country. I felt it best to end the conversation right there by walking back to the keg and pouring a tasty beer. Bruce, I agree with you, this series has the possibility of being one of the greatest world series matchups ever played…….i just don’t think it’s too smart to start claiming victory just yet. Especially if all you know about “your” team is the color of their uni’s. You may want to send a text to that effect to all of your douchebag yankee brethren before they’re all deported.
Bruce-just punch yourself in the face a few times. Save me the trouble.
As you all know, my schedule is out of control this time of year! I have no time to do anything. Not seen my friends, my family, hell, I have even cancelled what I will pg-13-edly refer to as, “Time with a Lady” to get NLDS/NLCS/WS stuff done. I have however JUST penciled in time to meet all of you and roll Bruce with extreme violence!!!!
Yuck the Fankees!
Did I go Rip Van Winkle during the dreadfully boring Eagles game? Down here in the southeast I only get sports talk radio courtesy of the “world wide leader” and I could swear the experts have already declared the series over.
How did they declare after the clinic Cliff Lee put on last night?
